The Ohana Aina Association invites both members and non-members to join us at an upcoming in-person meeting on Thursday, May 4th, 2023. 5:00-7:00PM at Guard Well Farm, 75-1097 Keopu Mauka Dr, Holualoa, HI 96725.

The fourth draft of the proposed TAR (Transient Accommodation Rentals) regulations to regulate hosted vacation rentals is coming. It is more important than ever that we, TAR operators, service providers, and owners on the Big Island, band together closely so that our voices are heard and our actions are well coordinated for maximum impact. Without shows of concerted efforts, we will not be able to protect our TAR operations and our economic livelihood.

The Ohana Aina Association was formed to be an advocate for Homestay, Farmstay, and Transient Rental operators on the Big Island. We exist to help families grow and prosper on the Big Island. Our members include local families, farmers, vacation rental owners, property managers, and service providers.

At this meeting, we will present the strategic achievements of the last 5 months, provide attendees with the most current status of the TAR regulations drafts of Hawaii County as well as state-level legislative activities, identifying new action items, and ask for your participation in ideas and in the volunteer efforts. The action team of the association consists of only volunteers. Without them, you, and all of us giving efforts and volunteering together, we cannot advocate effectively for our interest.
